Dallas World Aquarium
An old warehouse at 1801 North Griffin Street, near the Historic West End District in downtown Dallas, became the original site of The Dallas World Aquarium, opening to the public in October 1992. Built in 1924, the empty warehouse had been occupied until 1982. During those years it was used for various industries, including the Mohawk Rubber Company and Pioneer Steel Rule and Die.

Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo began in 1888 with just two deer and two mountain lions in City Park. It later moved to Fair Park in 1909 and quickly outgrew its second home, moving to Marsalis Park in 1912, where it stands today. Dallas Eagle
The Dallas Eagle was founded by Matt Miller and Mark Frazier. In 1995, Mark came up with the idea of opening a leather bar in Dallas because he felt there was a need in the DFW Leather Community. Resource Center Dallas
The year was 1983.'Dallas' was on television,'Return of the Jedi' played at the movie theaters and Michael Jacksons album'Thriller' dominated the radio. That was also the year when Resource Center got its start.
For over 35 years, the Center has provided programs of interest to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community members and critical assistance to people living with HIV and AIDS and for their families. The programs of Resource Center promote understanding of the LGBTQ community and aim to eradicate the spread of HIV and AIDS.

Out of the Closet is a nonprofit chain of thrift stores whose revenues provide medical care for patients with HIV/AIDS. The chain is owned and operated by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a Los Angeles-based charity that provides medical, preventive, and educational resources for patients. AHF is the nation's largest non-profit HIV/AIDS healthcare, research, prevention, and education provider. Out of the Closet thrift stores generate income to help fund the medical services AHF provides for those patients who are unable to pay. Proceeds from Out of the Closet Thrift Stores directly benefit AHF.
