LOCATION
Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
Beach was founded in the 1870’s as the site of a religious camp. Following the development of a railroad and boardwalk in the 1900’s, Rehoboth Beach evolved into an active year-round gay friendly resort town. Today, it stands as a year-round gay resort, with more than 200 gay-owned restaurants, shops, lodgings and nightspots.
Embracing the northernmost part of the Delaware shore, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach are only a short two-and-a-half hour drive from Washington D.C. and Baltimore, three hours from Philadelphia and four hours from New York City. You can also take Amtrak to Wilmington, DE, rent a car at the terminal and drive 1.5 hrs. downstate.
Thought of as the Mid-Atlantic region’s answer to Key West or Provincetown, Rehoboth boasts the famous Queen Street LGBT beach with plenty of people watching and a lively boardwalk full of arcades, eateries and bars. Many of the restaurants and attractions are surprisingly affordable, and there’s a great mix of cheap, elegant and trendy. This means you can grab a hot dog, stop at a crab shack, ride the bumper cars or spend the day at a spa and sit down for a lavish dinner. If you’re looking for a more active outing, you can head to one of the nearby parks for hiking trails, fishing, camping and kayaking. On nearby Route 1, you’ll find a haven for outlet shopping (FYI, there’s no sales tax in Delaware!).

Leather Made. Since 1899. It is this infatuation with leather that has captured our imaginations from the start. Berman Brothers Furs, Wool and Hides, was founded by three brothers right at the end of the 19th century in a boomtown of the times: Minneapolis. Inspired by the beauty of the hides, the products had to be genuine. They had to be handcrafted. (Just as they are today.) And they had to be available to the widest range of people while still maintaining the natural qualities that make leather special.
